The Artist
Amber Kempkes
My love of henna began six years ago when I received a henna design as a gift at my 30th birthday party. It was love at first sight! I immediately started reading everything I could get my hands on and learning about every facet of the henna experience, including taking classes when available in my area. I started the 2018 new year with a goal of sharing my knowledge and spreading the joy that henna provides. Lunar Lotus is a long-time dream come true!
Henna Gesserit BoDYART + Bodywork
Samantha MuCulloch of Henna Gesserit BodyArt giving me my first henna design on November 21st, 2012. Credit for my love of henna goes to her and my friends who made it possible for me to have the experience I didn't know at the time my soul needed. You can view her outstanding work by clicking the link above and visiting her newly redesigned website.
"It seems that rather than henna having one birthplace then being spread throughout the world, henna was developed independently in areas where it grows well. This means no single culture "owns" henna. Henna is an equal-opportunity artistic adventure! Anyone can use henna!"
~Jody Rogers of Beachcombers Henna Supply & Studio
You might wonder where henna artists receive inspiration for new designs. My friend Traci Cameron is an enormously talented artist and she is one of those amazing people who always have an idea brewing. She inspires me to keep creating and is never afraid to offer feedback. Her website is amazing so go take a look!
